Why?

During my early work experiences, I noticed that many places could use some extra motivation. When I asked “Why?”, I often didn’t receive a clear answer.

My mission is to instil purpose in people’s work and create visions of a higher goal, not just for a single project. During my dual study programme, I studied (agile) project management and change management to address the question of “Why”.

My journey

Since 2022, I have been coordinating as a lead at Accenture, managing teams within large procurement initiatives to create efficiency and added value for our clients.

From 2021 to 2022, I coordinated three fantastic international development teams at Volkswagen Group IT Solutions. My responsibility was to ensure the delivery of our teams’ work and align them with Volkswagen’s vision. To achieve this, I developed a brand-wide agile collaboration model and introduced a DevOps approach.

From 2018 to 2020, I served as the Head of (IT) Project Management at Volkswagen Classic Parts. I managed projects on an individual level as well as on a multi-project management level. During its organisational and cultural change, I fostered an agile culture. In international committees, I represented the project and realised synergies among collaborators.

For my mission, I completed a dual study programme in Computer Science and Business Management at Nordakademie. During my studies, I was an employee of ITERGO and had the opportunity to work in several departments. ITERGO is the IT service provider for the ERGO Group. The highlight of my studies was a six-month assignment for a client in Birmingham (UK) as part of the international consulting team. As a PMO, my task was to manage the team on an operational level.

It is not the methods...

As a developer, I soon realised that I didn’t want to spend eight hours a day in front of a computer. Instead, I wanted to understand the purpose of my contributions to customers. Through my international experiences, I found that the methods were often not the cause of failure. The underlying culture of the system matters.

I have explored areas where the interaction between many systems manifests itself. In a familiar area, it is visible: Optimal capital allocation and investment theory. To gain experience with the system of supply and demand, I regularly visit flea markets. I grappled with questions like, “What is the optimal price I am willing to pay, and what is the optimal price for the seller?” during my youth. What is often not mentioned in literature is that non-monetary factors (e.g. political situation) can influence an investment as well.

My vision

During this time, I discovered that many other people needed a platform to discuss these topics. Consequently, I co-founded the trading club Financial Network for Excellence as a Chief Financial Officer at Nordakademie. The club currently has over 200 active members. As many members lived in different states, I founded a project to manage a depot with a virtual team. In the project, our members can gain practical experience and explore the psychological aspects of trading by interacting with the markets more effectively than through a PowerPoint presentation…

As an unconventional investor, I critically assess various aspects and study valuation methods in my spare time. Additionally, I have not missed the opportunity to gain experiences with cryptocurrencies.

The reading lists of many progressive thinkers and highly renowned individuals have been invaluable to me. That’s why I publicly share my personal list.

I am always open to new ideas or recommendations – if you have some, please feel free to contact me!
